Action Synergy promotes and coordinates a European project which aims at the facilitation of language learning. The project’s name is SuN.Com (Sustainable Networking Community) and is
financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme (Key Activity 2: Languages).
Main aim of the project is the development of a method for sustainable networking for an informal language learning Community, with a focus on 8 non wide spread languages. In its first phase it proposes the use of innovative methods for Greek language learning, as a paradigm. The second phase includes communities of Italian, Albanian, Latvian, Russian, Slovenian, Polish, Czech and English. At first, two virtual communities will be formed: a Community of Learning, addressed to learners of Greek as a foreign language (GFL) and to native Greek speakers who learn a foreign language, and the second to be a Community of Practice, addressed to teachers of GFL.
The project aims at uniting these two groups into an integrated community, which will be the core of an extended and sustainable learning network. Then, the model will be transferred to the other above mentioned languages. The project’s main target groups are language teachers (of all the European languages) and language learners wishing to learn one of the above mentioned 9 languages.
The partnership that is going to implement the project is consisted of 9 partners from 6 countries (Greece, Italy, United Kingdom, Latvia, Germany and Romania).
The first project meeting took place in Athens from the 19th until the 20th of May 2011.
